Running the Heavenly Race

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

There is a Heavenly Race that is set before each one of us. Sometimes we can get caught up in the temporary things in this world and that surround us every day in our lives, but there are things that are planned and purposed by God for us, as part of His eternal plan. Many times people find themselves weighted down in life, especially when it comes to the cares of this world, but we can live in a place of freedom and blessings when we seek first God’s Kingdom.

One of the most asked questions I get is: “What is my purpose in life?” So many people struggle in life, are empty and have no joy, because they don’t know their purpose. Many people feel like they are spinning their wheels and getting nowhere in life and that is because they run the rat race instead of running the Heavenly race. In Proverbs 19:21 it says, “You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” When we go against God’s eternal plans by following our own plans we will find ourselves empty and never fulfilled. The best place and safest place you will ever be is in the perfect will of God, and that requires you to no longer run after your selfish ambitions and personal desires, but Run the Heavenly Race that is set before YOU!

As you continue on through life, I pray everything of the past is laid upon the altar and your life is consecrated to God afresh and anew. I pray every plan of the enemy and of man will come to nothing, but only God’s plan shall be fulfilled for your life. I pray eternity becomes real to you, and that you receive direction and are strengthened to run the Heavenly race and finish strong. I pray this in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
