1 Corinthians 16:13 (AMPC) “Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith (your conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, keeping the trust and holy fervor born of faith and a part of it). Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength!”
The reality is that God loves you and He has the absolute best in store for you, yet there are things to do on our part to ensure that we experience His best. He has given us instruction to acknowledge Him in all of our ways. Acknowledging God in all of our ways is not passive, but it is active and something that we do intentionally because we love Him. He should be on our mind, in our hearts, and first place in our lives at all times. God is not a part-time God and as Believers we can never just be part-time Believers either.
The Word of God tells us in James 1:8 that “A double minded man is unstable in all of his ways.” Having two minds is living in doubt, lacking confidence in God, and not being fully persuaded by His Word, which will only lead to an unfulfilled life, and a life filled with restlessness, disappointments, confusion and upheaval.
As you make a conscious decision on a daily basis to stand strong, to faint not, to not ever waver from the Word of God and never deny your faith in Jesus Christ, your life will be a strong witness and a life lived with no regrets. Ephesians 6:3 in the Amplified Classics Translation says, “Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].” The Armor doesn’t just slip on by accident, you’ve got to put it on and then do your part without backing down… After you have done all, STAND!
We have to get our priorities straight and a daily priority must be to live a life fully submitted to God and to feed our spirit man. Daily, choosing to do things God’s way. Daily, choosing to run the Heavenly race. Daily, choosing to yield to the Holy Spirit. Daily, choosing to walk by faith. Jesus said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)
The Lord has called each of us to be spreaders of the Eternal Flame – Christ in you – the Hope of Glory (Colossians 1:27). We must be proclaimers and demonstrators of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Do not back away, back down, or slow down when it comes to the things of God. Go forward and take ground. Be determined that your life will be a living example of what Philippians 3:14 says – “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” The world is your pulpit and the nations are calling. It’s time to bring in the harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God.
