Foundation Scripture(s): Hebrews 10:23; James 1:6
Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
James 1:6 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
1. Don’t Limit God
Psalm 78:19-29 KJV “19 Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? 20 Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? 21 Therefore the Lord heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; 22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation: 23 Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, 24 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. 25 Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full. 26 He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind. 27 He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea: 28 And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. 29 So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;”
Verse 40-42 says, “40 How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! 41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. 42 They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.”
• Forgetting What God Has Done limits God
• Unbelief and Doubt limits God

Faith begins where knowledge is

2. Faith to Rise Higher
God wants to put an immovable force inside of every Believer
God wants to put stability in everyone of us.
Psalm 62:2 “He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.”
If God is big enough to pick us up out of sin then He’s big enough to keep us out of sin.
Many fail because they do not see their place of stability in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 61:2 David said “…when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I” There is a place of stability but we’ve got to go up higher.
Psalm 40:1-2 KJV “1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”
Isaiah 28:16 KJV “Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”
3. A Place of Stability
Jesus is the Rock of our salvation — And He is the only stability we have!
Matthew 16:13-18 KJV “13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
If your stability is in a man – you’re in trouble.
If your stability is in a church – you’re in trouble.
If your stability is in a religion – you’re in trouble.
Jesus is our Rock and upon Him is the only place we will find stability – it’s upon the revelation of who Jesus is and who He is to us – and it is that place the gates of Hell will never be able to prevail.
As faith comes alive in you – your faith will be immovable!
